Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following war: World War I (WWI). Contains photographs of the following military unit: 77th Division. General description of the collection: The Robert Alexander photograph collection includes about 100 loose Signal Corps photos from WWI, four albums reflective of General Alexander's service in command of the 77th Division and one album showing him after his retirement from 1922 to 1934. For the most part, the Signal Corps photos duplicate what is in our Signal Corps collection, so the strength of this collection is in the portraits of General Alexander himself. Another strength is the collection of portraits of French officers which is in one of the oversize albums.
